Through the Lands of Princely Lviv

This walking tour of Princely Lviv explores the oldest part of the city, which developed long before the familiar ensemble of Rynok Square. The route leads through the Old Market area and historic Pidzamche, where churches and sites preserve the memory of Lviv’s princely period and its earliest communities.

You will discover some of the oldest churches in Lviv, learn where the early town centre was located, what the city was like in the time of Prince Lev and how its suburbs developed. Part of the story is devoted to St Onuphrius Monastery, the beginnings of printing in Lviv and Ivan Fedorov.

The tour is ideal for visitors who have already seen Rynok Square and want to discover a quieter and much older side of Lviv closely connected with the city’s Ukrainian heritage.
