Streets of the Old Town
The ancient center and soul of the city is Rynok Square and the City Hall. Slightly aside, framed by the Boim and Kampian chapels, stands the central Catholic shrine - the Latin Cathedral. The cozy Armenian Church is hidden in the Armenian quarter, an entire ensemble of the Assumption Church is located in the Ruthenian quarter, and the Jesuit Church towers over the avenue. The Jewish quarter holds the stories of its ancient residents and the remains of a synagogue, while numerous stone buildings and defensive walls remain silent about the past...
The walk through the medieval city includes a visit to Rynok Square, the Dominican and Jesuit monastic complexes, the Assumption Church, cozy courtyards, and streets of the national quarters (Ruthenian, Jewish, Armenian), as well as defensive structures (the City and Royal Arsenals). These places have preserved the grandeur of the Lviv fortress, the lifestyle of that era, and the names of famous people. Enjoy the architectural treasures included in the UNESCO heritage list.
