Zhovkva and Krekhiv Monastery - Day Trip from Lviv
Less than an hour from Lviv, the pace changes completely: Renaissance Zhovkva with its royal history, old square and castle, followed by Krekhiv Monastery surrounded by the forests of Roztochia.
In Zhovkva, we will walk through the historic centre, see St Lawrence Church, the Basilian monastery and the defensive synagogue, and visit Zhovkva Castle, associated with the history of King John III Sobieski.
After the town, we continue to St Nicholas Krekhiv Monastery. The atmosphere here is completely different – forest, monastery walls, quiet surroundings and a holy spring. The journey combines a small historic town with a peaceful walk through the landscapes of Roztochia.
