Sambir, Kulchytsi, Rudky & UPA Hideout Museum – Day Trip from Lviv

This full-day trip from Lviv through the Sambir region combines Boyko heritage, Cossack history, religious landmarks and lesser-known episodes from the region’s past.

In Sambir, we explore the historic centre and Town Hall and visit the Boykivshchyna Historical and Ethnographic Museum. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary preserves the revered Sambir icon and relics of St Valentine.

In Kulchytsi, we discover the stories of Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachnyi and Yurii Kulchytskyi. The popular story linking Kulchytskyi to the origins of Viennese coffee culture is presented as a cultural legend rather than an undisputed historical fact.

The journey then continues through Rudky to Basivka and its reconstructed UPA hideout museum, which recreates underground daily life and a clandestine printing operation.
